Politician Hits Delivery Worker with Car and Flees the Scene

From Jersey City, we have a news story that exemplifies the everyday violence committed against workers while we are going about our lives and trying to make an honest living.

Last month, a councilwoman (described as a "progressive" and a "feminist" on the city's official website) hit an Uber Eats delivery worker with her car at an intersection, knocking him off his bike and flipping him through the air. Instead of stopping to check on the cyclist, she sped off. Let this be a lesson to workers everywhere: the same “progressives” who trip over each other for photo-ops at worker demonstrations will run a worker over without apparent consequences.

Once considered a potential mayoral candidate for 2025, the councilwoman belongs to a well-connected political family. Her father has been the County Executive for two decades, the highest government position in Hudson County. 

Faced with calls to resign, the councilwoman is holding tightly to her seat: "stay the course" must be her motto behind the wheel and in politics.
